Executive Summary
Tyrone Textiles has been a valued customer for over 25 years and continue to work with Innov8 for ongoing support, guidance and advice. In 2025, Tyrone Textiles began planning a significant modernisation of their IT environment. Their existing on-premise server had reached end-of-life, their device estate included Windows 10 machines approaching the October 2025 support deadline and whilst several legacy systems still required secure access and retention for historical purposes, they wanted to transform digitally.
Alongside this, the business wished to strengthen its cyber security posture, simplify and unify technology under a more resilient and forward-looking environment.
Solution Challenge
The core challenge centred on an ageing on-premise server that carried increasing reliability and security risks, because this hardware was already at the end of its lifecycle. Continuing to operate on it would have exposed the business to unnecessary vulnerabilities. Alongside the server concerns, several desktop machines were still running Windows 10 and would require replacement ahead of Microsoft’s October 2025 end-of-support deadline.
Additional considerations included the handling of historical Sage and Realitex data, which needed to be exported and retained on a new cloud platform, alongside the planned migration of Orderwise – which would be managed by a third-party provider, once the cloud server environment was ready.
Tyrone Textiles also wanted to strengthen authentication, improve security monitoring and establish a more unified, modern platform for managing devices, users and network infrastructure.
The business needed a single, coherent project that would replace outdated systems, reduce operational risk and create an environment capable of supporting its future.
The Innov8 Solution
Innov8 proposed and delivered a comprehensive modernisation plan that replaced the on-premise server with a new Innov8 Hosted Cloud Server, a solution sized according to system requirements and including 1.5TB of storage. This cloud environment would become the foundation for hosting their 3rd-party system once migrated and for storing securely exported Realitex and Sage historical data.
As part of the same project, Innov8 undertook the replacement and configuration of all remaining Windows 10 devices. Refreshing these machines during the cloud project allowed the team to implement new security measures immediately, including multi-factor authentication, updated policies, conditional access and the latest protection available through Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Defender for Business Premium.
The project also introduced MFA across client machines, bringing an additional layer of authentication security to the business. Alongside the cloud migration and device refresh, Innov8 prepared for the safe retirement of the ageing on-premise server, including the decommissioning of Acronis Cloud Backup in favour of cloud server backups.
Finally to support ongoing protection, Innov8 recommended the deployment of its internal monitoring system. This would allow Tyrone Textiles to benefit from continuous vulnerability scanning and proactive recommendations, ensuring the environment remained secure long after the project was completed.
Looking Ahead
The result of this project is a completely refreshed, modern and secure environment that removes the reliance on outdated hardware and unsupported systems. Tyrone Textiles now operate on a consolidated, cloud-based platform that centralises security, simplifies management and strengthens the business against evolving cyber threats.
